The Spirits and Masters I Work With

In my work I cooperate with a whole range of spirits and higher beings. This page is an overview of the ones I work with today, grouped by kind, and it will grow as new relationships form.

Some of them are Ascended Masters: beings who mastered physical life on Earth, completed the cycle of reincarnation, and moved on to a higher level of existence. Sananda (Jeshua/Jesus) and Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) are among the most famous.

Others are archangels, the great parents of earth and sky, powers of nature, and plant teachers. Each kind has its own chapter below, and for each being I describe how the relationship works, because no two are alike.

In my work, I channel their energies, allowing them to work through me and reach humanity directly.

I list them all here for a reason: so that you can call upon them too. That is what they are for. They take form when you need them, and their energies flow to anyone who calls.

An invocation is much the same as a prayer, and a prayer works the same way. It does not need to be complicated. This is one of my own:

"I call upon the energies of Master St Germain to help me transmute these heavy energies I am feeling. I thank you and I love you. Make it so! Selah! Amen! AUM!"

If you wish to go deeper into the Ascended Masters and their hierarchy, I direct you towards the website of my good friend Jim.

The Ascended Master Sananda (Yeshua)

Yeshua and Sananda are two entities of the same being. Yeshua of Nazareth is the man who lived, just like any of us, and his life and teaching are what the Christian world is built on.

Sananda is the soul of that being, and that soul is an Ascended Master. In the hierarchy he oversees the Sixth Ray, the ray of devotion.

The Piscean age now ending was his age. Its lessons of love, devotion and forgiveness came into the world through him.

Master Sananda interacts with me as Yeshua the man. He is with me in ceremony, in quiet moments, and on my late-night walks.

Through him my work also reaches into the Christian world. I volunteer in my local church, where I serve at mass and take part in the liturgy. I am also part of a group working to bring the church back to life, with evening masses with meditation and music, art projects for the school children, and care for the old building and its grounds.

My hope is that his living spirit takes more room in the church again.

He is invoked for forgiveness and devotion.

Saint Germain

The Ascended Master Rakoczi (Saint Germain)

Saint Germain is the keeper of the violet flame of transmutation, and he is the Master I work with most.

In the hierarchy he is the Chohan of the Seventh Ray, the ray of freedom, transmutation and ceremonial order. Magic, ritual and alchemy belong to him, and the age the world is now entering is his to lead: he is the hierarch of the Aquarian age.

Transmutation is a big part of my work: taking what is heavy, stuck or harmful and turning it into wisdom and freedom. When I clear energies in a session, the violet flame is usually burning somewhere in the room.

He has a lightness to him that people do not expect from the word Master. The work is serious. He is not.

This Master has gifted us with many great incarnations, including Merlin (King Arthur), Christian Rosenkreutz (founder of the Rosicrucians), Christopher Columbus and Sir Francis Bacon (Shakespearian author).

He is invoked for the transformative energy of the Violet Flame.

The Ascended Master El Morya

El Morya is the Chohan of the First Ray for planet Earth. The First Ray is the Will of God, and its qualities are will, power and drive. Leadership and government fall under his ray.

Tradition counts Abraham, King Arthur, Thomas More and Akbar the Great among his incarnations.

El Morya steps the Will of God down into energy that human beings can receive. This is not reserved for the few. It flows to everyone, and I draw on it like anyone else.

When someone finds the will and the drive to do what needs to be done, that is the First Ray at work.

He is invoked for will and direction.

Ascended Master Kuthumi

The Ascended Master Kuthumi

Kuthumi is The Chohan of the Second Ray of Divine Light, known as Love/Wisdom, representing the energy of Divine Love. The Second Ray is the Teaching Ray, and Kuthumi is also known as The World Teacher. The Position of World Teacher is also called The Office of The Christ Consciousness.

His last incarnate lifetime was as Kuthumi Lal Singh, a 19th-century Kashmiri prince. Toward the end of that lifetime, He took the Fifth Initiation, which is called the Revelation, and He became an Ascended Master.

Earlier lives counted to him include Pythagoras, Balthazar of the three Magi, and Saint Francis of Assisi.

He also works through my friend Jim.

He is invoked for the immense healing powers of the Christ Consciousness.

The Ascended Master Hilarion

Hilarion is the Chohan of the Fifth Ray of Divine Light, representing the Concrete Mind and Scientific Precision. He oversees all scientific and technological development on the planet, as well as the Healing Arts and the evolution of the rational mind toward higher, abstract mental capabilities.

His most famous incarnation was that of Plato. His last incarnation was as Saint Hilarion, a 4th century miracle-worker. The tradition also counts the apostle Paul among his lives.

In my life he shows a practical side. He is near whenever medicine is involved, he follows new science closely, and he is there each time I train in a new healing art. When the usual answers fall short, he points toward other ways to heal.

He is invoked as the one overseeing all Healing Arts.

The Ascended Master Mother Mary

In the Ascended Master tradition, Mother Mary is an Archeia, the feminine counterpart of an archangel, and the divine complement of Archangel Raphael. The two serve the work of healing together.

She took on a human life to carry and raise Yeshua, and she has never stopped working since. The great apparitions at Lourdes, Fatima and Guadalupe are hers, and so are the healings that followed them.

Her particular gift is to hold the perfect, whole image of a person while they heal. Millions still call on her by name every day.

I work with her less closely than with Saint Germain or Kuthumi. More often it is she who works through me.

She is invoked for comfort and healing.

The Ascended Master Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene was healed by Yeshua, and from that day she followed and supported his ministry to the end. She stood at the cross when most had fled, and the gospels name her as the first witness of the risen Christ: the apostle to the apostles.

The church remembered her wrongly for fourteen centuries as the penitent sinner, a label a pope gave her in the year 591 and the church itself has since corrected. Her restoration is still underway.

In the Gnostic texts she is the companion of Yeshua and the disciple who understood him best. Modern traditions honour her as a keeper of the divine feminine.

I am among those who believe she was more than that: his wife and divine counterpart, his equal in spiritual power and in healing. She carried what the old traditions call the Sophia consciousness.

When she comes to me, she comes as the dragon mother. Like Mother Mary, she works through me more than I work with her.

She is invoked for the strength of the divine feminine.

Quan Yin, bodhisattva of compassion, in white robes with a lotus

The Ascended Master Quan Yin

Quan Yin is the bodhisattva of compassion, and her name means the one who hears the cries of the world. The old vow tells that she turned back at the gates of nirvana and chose to stay until every being is free.

One story says her head split from the effort of answering every cry, and she was given a thousand arms so she could reach everyone who calls. Across East Asia she protects mothers, children and those in peril on the sea.

In the Ascended Master tradition she is the Goddess of Mercy, and she serves on the Karmic Board, where mercy meets justice.

She too mostly works through me, in the moments that call for compassion.

She is invoked for mercy and forgiveness.

Archangel Michael

Known as the Protector of Mankind and a bringer of Courage and Self-Belief, Michael lends you his strength in times of need. His shield and sword are only a thought away.

His name is a question, Who is like God, and in the old stories it was his battle cry. He leads the hosts of heaven, and Jewish, Christian and Islamic tradition all know him by name.

He serves on the blue ray of will and power, and his sword of blue flame cuts away what binds. Here in the north, the old master plant kvann carries his spirit.

He is part of the every day of this practice: hands-on, present, first to answer when protection is called for.

He is invoked for protection, for courage, and for cutting away what binds.

Archangel Michael
Archangel Raphael

Archangel Raphael

Known as the Healing Angel, Raphael works on physical, emotional and spiritual healing. His name means God heals. In the old Book of Tobit he walks beside the traveller in disguise and heals as he goes, and he is still the patron of healers and travellers.

He serves on the green ray of healing and truth. In many traditions he works closely with Mother Mary, his divine complement, and together they nurture the world with boundless compassion and love.

He was there at the very beginning of my path: it was Raphael who came to me in ceremony and showed me my path and mission. He is present in the healing work I do now, daily and directly.

He is invoked for healing of body, heart and spirit, for safe travels, and for guiding the hands of healers.

Archangel Gabriel

Gabriel's name means God is my strength. He is the great messenger: he announced the births to Mary and to Zechariah, and in Islam it was he who brought the revelation. When heaven has something to say, Gabriel carries it.

With me his messages come as downloads: a nudge, a thought that arrives from outside, woven into ordinary days. I am not channeling him. He is the one who delivers.

He is invoked for clarity in communication, for understanding visions and dreams, and for strength in hard times.

Archangel Uriel

Uriel's name means the light of God. He is the archangel of wisdom, and the old books give him the role of the explainer: in the Book of Enoch he is the one who warns Noah, and in the apocrypha he answers the prophet Ezra's hardest questions.

Where Gabriel delivers the message, Uriel turns the light on so it can be understood. In the Ascended Master tradition he serves the ray of peace and ministration.

He is invoked for wisdom, for light on dark situations, and for peace.

Mother Gaia

Gaia is the living consciousness of the Earth itself, and an archangel that is often forgotten.

In a journey to the element of earth, I asked her permission to work with her directly, and she gave it. Earth, the element of grounding, is hers: when I ground myself or a client, I reach down to her.

She takes a mothering role with me at times, and more than once she has pointed me toward good causes for her children. When I open to her, I sometimes feel what she feels. She is emotional about what is happening in the world, especially with children.

She is invoked for grounding and care.

Father Sky

Father Sky is God. The Father, the Source of all things, the one every tradition reaches toward under its own name.

I was brought before Him in my first ayahuasca ceremony. I did not remember the journey, but I knew afterwards where I had been: at the core of the universe, at the source of all things.

He is invoked in prayer, as He always has been.

The Sun

The sun has been worshipped under many names: Ra in Egypt, Inti in the Andes, Sol and Sunna here in the north. In the Nordic Bronze Age the whole cosmology followed the sun's journey, carried across the sky by horse and ship, and down through the underworld at night.

I journeyed to the sun to ask to work with it. There was a council there, and Masters came and spoke for me, and I was judged worthy.

I was given a flame, set into my heart, and it has burned there since.

The Goddess of the Moon

The moon has been a goddess almost everywhere: Selene to the Greeks, Luna to the Romans, the keeper of tides, cycles and the inner world. Time itself was first counted in moons.

I met her on a journey, and she made me one of her own, a Child of the Moon. This spring, during a drum ceremony, she gave her permission for me to work directly with her and with the energies of the moon.

She shows herself as a young goddess in blue and purple, and she guides the moon circles I hold.

Fire

Fire is the element of transformation. It consumes what is finished and makes room for what comes. It has had its goddesses and keepers everywhere: Brigid and her sacred flame in Ireland, Pele in the volcanoes of Hawaii, the hearth goddesses of the old north.

When I journeyed to the element of fire, it met me in person: the Goddess of Fire, a female form of living lava and fire. I asked for permission to work with her, and she gave it.

In my work, fire is the element I turn to when something needs to be released or transformed. What is given to the fire is consumed and does not come back, whether it is heavy energy in a healing or something burned in ceremony.

Water

Water is the element of cleansing, healing and feeling. It carries away what is released. Its beings live in every tradition's waters: the naiads of the Greek springs, the undines of the old elemental philosophy, and the rå that the Norwegian folk record gives to lakes and rivers.

I journeyed to water as I did to the other elements, and asked to work with it. When I call on it for cleansing or healing, its beings answer: mermaid-like nymphs, seen in the inner sight, not with the eyes.

The rain belongs to water as well, and it has its own spirit. My teacher called it the Rainman, but no human shape or gender really fits: it sits on the clouds and directs the rain. We turned out to share a sense of humour. Ours is a friendship of two pranksters, and we jokingly call it the goddess of rain.

It has been known to do me a weather favour, when the favour serves everyone.

Air

Air is the element of breath, thought and movement. Every tradition names its winds: the Greeks crowned four wind kings, the old Norse origin stories made the wind a person, Kári, brother of the sea and the fire, and sailors here bought fair wind in knots from weather-wise women.

When I journeyed to the element of the winds, it came to meet me as the Prince of the Winds: a young man riding the winds on a flying carpet. He easily gave me permission to work with him, and we have had fun riding the winds together.

He and the spirit of the rain complement each other up there, and when weather is in question I usually call on them both.

King Winter

The north has always made winter a person: Old Man Winter, Father Frost in the east. In the old Norse calendar the deep of winter had its own figure, Þorri, honoured with a midwinter feast.

My journey to him led to an ice castle in the far north, with a whole settlement of beings around it, all preparing the winter. He is not so much an element as a major deva who runs the season, and he gave me permission to work with him.

Mother Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is the great teacher plant of the Amazon: a vine brewed into medicine, and the spirit in that medicine. Her name in Quechua means the vine of the spirits, and the peoples of the Amazon have worked with her longer than anyone can date. Those who know her call her Mother.

I drank her medicine in ceremony in 2023, after many years of searching. She is a harsh teacher, and what she showed me set me on the path I walk now. That story is told elsewhere on this site.

Ours is a rapport rather than a working relationship. I do not serve her medicine and I do not hold her ceremonies, but I speak of her freely, and with respect.

Grandpa Sanango

Sanango is another of the Amazon's master plants, and the elders call him Grandpa: a teacher of wisdom and consciousness rather than visions and fire.

A dieta is the old Amazonian way of apprenticing to a plant: days of seclusion and a strict diet while the plant teaches. I sat my dieta with Grandpa Sanango in Peru in 2025, under traditional maestros.

With him and Mother Ayahuasca I explored what human consciousness is capable of, and what he taught me is still unfolding.

Kvann

Kvann, the angelica of the north, is the old master plant of this land, grown and traded here since the Viking age.

Her spirit carries the energy of Archangel Michael: a guardian. She shows herself to me as a female angelic warrior, and sometimes I am called to drink her root as a tea at the start of a ceremony.

Her full entry lives in the plant medicine encyclopedia.

Hekate

In the old Greek world, Hekate was the goddess of thresholds, crossroads and the night. She keeps the keys, and she is called on for protection at the boundaries.

She came to me in the spring and took the role of a teacher. With me she teaches protection and discernment for the heavier parts of the work.

The first thing she taught me was defence.

She is invoked for protection at the thresholds.

Loki

In the Norse stories, Loki is the trickster among the gods, the one who upsets what is settled, for better and for worse.

Loki, or whatever old current carries that name, works through me as the trickster. Sometimes a stuck pattern needs to be upset before it can be seen, and that is his specialty.

The Lakota call this role the heyoka, the sacred clown who teaches by provoking. When I step into it, it is usually Loki at my shoulder.

He is not one I invoke. He shows up on his own.
